Franklin Family - Sneak Peek
Here's a sneak peek from this evening's session with the Franklin Family.
Nathan
I remember meeting Nathan when he was a little boy. I've seen him grow into a young man. But, it was only as I reviewed photos from his graduation session that I realized how 'grown up' he is.
I did some reflecting on what I've observed about him while spending time with his family. I have never once heard him speak disrespectfully to or about his parents. I've never seen a teenager that seemed to get along with people so well. For the past several years, he has spent 70+ hours volunteering every month. He is considerate and quick to smile. And he has some very serious goals that I have absolute confidence he will reach.
During our session, Nate's smile was ever-present. He told me that he prefers smiling pictures over serious ones. I threw in a few serious photos for good measure but for the most part, he is always smiling anyway... so it fits.
Nate, it was a pleasure photographing you as you transition to a new phase of your life. We are all very proud of you.

Super Girl
Emma came out to watch me take pictures of her auntie Lisa and her fiance Josh. This is what she was wearing...
Lisa & Josh
These two.... oh my goodness. I just pretty much stood there snapping away and capturing their smiles.
Lisa is my BFFs sister, and apparently there's something in their genes, because my camera loves all 3 of those sisters.
For this session, we tromped through wet grass, keeping our eye out for cow patties. The weather was perfect - a bit cloudy but fairly warm.
You might not see their sweet smiles on the blog for a while because Lisa and Josh will be getting married in the spring of 2013. But, until then...

Chrissy & Fidel
I've known Chrissy for a few years - we bonded over our geeky jobs and lamenting our then-single state.
When she told me that she'd found someone... the one, I was deeply happy for her. I met Fidel initially at my wedding, so this engagement session was the first time I really had a chance to see these two interact.
They are so sweet. And content. And in love.
When I asked Fidel what stood out to him when he first met Chrissy, his answer was rather poetic. He said "she shines." Chrissy explained that he says that about people that have that special something. When you look at these pictures, I think you'll see too that Chrissy and Fidel both shine. Love does that to people.
I couldn't be happier for them... and I'm so excited to be capturing their wedding in September.
Location: Kubota Garden
Special thanks to my good-natured husband, who scouted photo spots, carried my equipment and stuffed leaves, rocks and pinecones into his pockets for me. Good man.

Lisa and Josh - Sneak Peek
My weekend was full of love and happiness! Today I wandered into a field with Lisa and Josh - happy, young, full of smiles.
These two are getting married next Spring!
More photos coming soon.
Chrissy & Fidel - Sneak Peek
Here are a few sneak peeks from Chrissy & Fidel's engagement session this afternoon. More to come.
Practice
This afternoon, I asked my sister-in-law (the talented lady behind Nostalgia Photographics) to spend a little time sharing her knowledge.
I've always been impressed by her confidence and her dedication to improving her photography. And I am so appreciative that she's willing to share what she's learned with her friends.
Claire - 18 months
I love this little person... and her family.
You probably already know that though, because they are all over my blog. Like seriously.
And that makes me happy.
This session was mainly about Claire, but with a family that is this close, it's inevitable that some 'other subjects' sneak in.
